I think the phrase " sticks and stones my break your bones, but words will never hurt you" is stupid. Because words can hurt. In James 3:5-6 it says "Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell." Words are very powerful, they can bring life or death. They can break a person or build someone up. I sometimes feel I am around so much negative talk, it drives me crazy. Don't people understand that the mean things they are saying are actually hurting the person they are saying it to. I am so glad that God is there to to give us words are strong and great. God wants us to always talk to each other in love and with encouragement. It is time to stand up and not talk the words that tear us apart and bring us down. So be careful what you say and guard your heart, thoughts,and words. Don't set a soul into a forest fire..
